This single storey extension filled an awkward garden space and created a large open plan kitchen dining area, intended to be large enough to host family gatherings for special occasions and holidays. The kitchen connects the new dining area with the main living room, creating a connected but intimate feel to the home, with a pleasing flow through the house, bringing the benefits of open plan living without losing the comfort of smaller spaces. The roof connection was particularly tricky, extending off the gable of the existing building, but a solution was developed to avoid internal gutters or flat roof areas.
