The conversion of a dilapidated detached coach house building within the grounds of a villa in in Glasgow’s West Pollockshields Conservation Area to form ancillary living accommodation for the main house. The sympathetic extension and renovation work created a spacious double height kitchen which is flooded with light from above, a single bedroom with shower room, and a well-proportioned living room to the ground floor. The alterations to the first floor involved creating a double master bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The design ensured that the existing feature windows and doors could be retained keeping the character of the building intact and the upgrades to the building fabric have created a home that is in line with current Building Standards requirements whilst sustainably reusing an existing building.
