The works for this project involve the design of a new build flatted development on an existing vacant brownfield site adjacent to the Category A Listed Ropeworks building in Port Glasgow. This development will include 24 new apartments housed within one flatted block on the site including associate road, parking and landscaping. The proposed development aims to be sympathetic to the historic ropeworks building and to compliment the prominent brick aesthetic of the ropeworks, whilst also reflecting the adjacent more modern residential scheme to the west. A simple palette of materials was chosen using subtle brick detailing to create depth to the façade. Planning Permission was granted in February 2023 and we are currently at Building Warrant stage with a view to works starting on site in Spring 2024.
